FAQ

Frequently asked questions

The short version of how RailVio works, what you get, and how it is different from the app builders you have already tried.

Is the build-my-app flow available now?

The agent build service is in early access, not open self-serve yet — we onboard builders deliberately so every project gets the full pipeline treatment. The task workspace (boards, goals, analytics) is live and free to use today.

Request early access to get in line for the build service.

What is an agent run?

It’s the unit your plan is metered in: one task taken all the way through the pipeline — planned, built, reviewed, tested, and deployed. A small change is about one run; a larger feature is split into several tasks and may take a handful. See the pricing page for worked examples and what happens if you go over your quota.

What can I build with RailVio?

Web apps on our supported stack — think pages, flows, data models, APIs, and the tests around them. The agents are strongest at standard web application work today; more specialized or non-web builds are outside what they do for now. Not sure your idea fits? Request early access and describe it — we’ll tell you honestly.

What stack do the agents use?

Next.js and React on the front end, Postgres for data — the same modern, widely supported stack the rest of RailVio is built on. Because you own the code in your own repository, anyone who knows that stack can pick it up, extend it, or host it wherever you like.

Can I bring an existing codebase?

Not yet. Today the agents build new apps on our supported stack rather than working inside a repository you already have. If importing an existing codebase is what you need, say so when you request early access — it helps us prioritize what to support next.

How long does a build take?

Hours to days per feature, not seconds. Every change goes through the full pipeline — planning, code review, automated tests, and security and accessibility checks — before it ships. That discipline is the tradeoff: you wait longer than a single-shot generator, and you get software that holds up in production instead of a demo you have to rebuild.

What do I actually own?

Real, production code in your own repository. RailVio is not a walled garden and there is no lock-in — the software the agents build is yours to run, extend, host anywhere, or take with you.

How is this different from Wix, Bolt, Lovable, or v0?

Those tools generate an app in a single shot. RailVio runs a disciplined software development lifecycle instead — planning, code review, automated tests, and security and accessibility checks — before anything ships. You get software that holds up in production and code you own, not a demo you have to rebuild.

What does it cost?

The task workspace is free to use. The agent build service is metered by agent runs, with monthly plans plus a custom tier for higher volume — see our pricing page for the current figures and what each tier includes.

Can I request changes after something ships?

Yes — iterating is the whole point. A change request is just another task: you describe what you want adjusted, and it goes through the same pipeline — planned, built, reviewed, tested, and deployed. Each round is another agent run, so you keep shaping the product until it’s right instead of being stuck with a one-shot result.

What about my data and privacy?

Your code lives in your own repository — yours to take anywhere. We don’t sell your personal data, the marketing site is cookieless (no tracking cookies, no cookie banner), and you can export or delete your data. Read our privacy policy for the full details.

Who is it for?

Builders — solo founders, indie makers, and small teams who know what they want to ship but do not have a full engineering team to ship it. You bring the idea and the direction; the agents are the team that builds it.
